John D. Gallagher is
a part-time lecturer in business English
and business French at Münster
University (Germany) and a translation
scholar of international renown. He has
published two textbooks of translation,
four books on French crime fiction and a
huge number of studies on translation
science, lexicography, contrastive
linguistics and the history of the
English language (more than 450 articles
and reviews). With Dirk Siepmann he is
currently preparing a textbook of
English academic writing intended mainly
